- Working at Artisan Hut gives makers the opportunity to improve their lives and enjoy a balance between work and personal life. Hosna Akter, assistant seamstress at Artisan Hut, described her daily routine to us:
- Lives with mother, brother and sister in Ashkona area of Dhaka, just 10 minutes walk from office.
- She usually wakes up at 7am and gets ready for work. After breakfast, she leaves home at 8:45am to start work at 9am.
- Have lunch at home with family. Finish work at 5pm and go home.
- In her free time she usually relaxes, watches TV and helps her mother cook. She also enjoys visiting family and friends at their homes.
- Have dinner with mom, brother and sister at 8pm and go to bed early around 9pm.
- When it comes to work, she appreciates the working environment and the opportunity to grow at Artisan Hut the most, which allows her to grow further.
- She enjoyed attending World Fair Trade Day last year and meeting other Fair Trade organisations and staff.
