Life in Silk

Silk has a life of its own.
From the fine silk threads of the Bao Loc highlands in Lam Dong, tied to the history of Vietnamese sericulture and silk production, through the hands of artisans, silk becomes a surface that captures light, holds pleats, and changes with every movement of the body.
Sometimes quiet.
Sometimes brilliant in a flash of light.
Sometimes leaving only a faint shimmer on the fabric's surface.

We preserve the essence of silk in a material characterized by its drape, luster, and natural light-capturing ability.

We call this Living Silk.
A world for creations made from silk - where the material does not remain static in the shape of a garment, but continues to live through the wearer.

From Thread to Surface

Silk at Hity goes beyond simply choosing a beautiful fabric.
On our silk base, we apply various surface treatment techniques:
hand screen printing,
high-end digital printing,
tie-dye.
Each technique creates a different way for light to touch the silk.
Some surfaces are sharp.
Some are gradient.
Some have natural color bleeds that follow the movement of the threads.

Silk thus becomes a surface for creativity,
rather than just a material for tailoring.

From Surface to Shape

Each Living Silk creation is designed to bring silk into tropical life.
The shapes are developed from the inherent properties of silk:
drape,
weight,
reflectivity,
movement,
and how the material interacts with the body.
Afterwards, each product is cut and sewn by hand at Hity Atelier.
The cuts are calculated so the silk falls exactly where it should.
The seams are finished with the precision required for a fabric that is thin, soft, and highly fluid.

Technique is part of the design.
Beautiful silk needs hands that truly understand it.

At Hity Atelier, master tailors Le Lien, Ninh Trung, and Thanh Thuy bring over 20 years of experience in cutting and finishing.
They understand how the shears glide through each layer of fabric.
They know when to leave extra room.
They know the necessary tension for every seam.
They know how to handle a material that can be completely transformed by just a few millimeters.
These are things difficult to see in a photograph.
But the wearer will feel them.

Luu Quang (Flowing Light)

The first three pieces of Living Silk are made from 19mm deep blue satin silk.
A blue with depth.
A surface that captures light with control.
A material that changes constantly as the body moves.

Mulberry silk is the world's finest and highest-quality silk, woven from the cocoons of silkworms fed exclusively on mulberry leaves (Bombyx mori). Notable features:

  • Pure fibers: Long, even, smooth, and significantly stronger than other silk types.
  • Natural luster: The fabric has a gentle shimmer like mother-of-pearl, not blinding.
  • Tactile feel: Extremely soft, smooth, and cool surface against the skin.
  • High durability: Despite being thin and light, the mulberry silk structure is very durable.

Advantages

  • Skin and hair friendly: Contains natural proteins and amino acids that reduce friction, retain moisture for the skin, and prevent hair breakage.
  • Temperature regulating: Breathable in summer and provides good warmth in winter.
  • Safe: Naturally antibacterial, mold-resistant, and hypoallergenic, suitable for sensitive skin.

The same silk, but three different forms.

We call them Luu Quang.
The light does not rest on the silk.
The light flows through it.

The shirt retains the freedom of an oversized silhouette.
The loose fit creates a breathing space around the body.
Slightly dropped shoulders.
Long sleeves.
Straight body, no waist definition.

Satin silk makes a structured design appear softer.
When standing still, the shirt holds its shape.
When walking, the hem moves.
When raising an arm, light runs along the sleeve and disappears into a fold.

This is how silk meets everyday shapes.
No need to be worn for a special occasion.
Just let the body start moving.

SKIRT

The flared skirt takes movement as its starting point.

The waistline maintains the clarity of the body.
From there, the fabric opens with every step.

Satin silk does not create one big movement.
It creates many small, continuous movements.

A shimmer changes at the hip.
A fold opens and closes.
A moment of light rests on the skirt before sliding away.

Therefore, the skirt is only truly complete when worn.

On the hanger, we see the shape.

On the body, we see the life of silk.

DRESS

The dress hugs the waist and extends into a midi length.

Here, silk is closer to the body.

The silhouette is maintained by the cut.
The drape of the satin creates a soft transition between clear lines.

No need for many details.

Just a body passing through the light.

The blue color becomes deeper in areas where the fabric overlaps.
Brighter on the curves of the body.
Changing with every angle of view.

The dress therefore does not carry a single fixed color.

It carries the light of the places it traverses.

Living Silk

Many forms.
One fiber.
Many surfaces.

The shirt holds the breathing space.
The skirt holds the movement.
The dress holds the lines of the body.

Each design gives silk a different way of living.
And the wearer completes the rest.
Because silk is not created just to be seen.

It is created to move,
to touch the skin,
to catch the light,
to change with every step,
and to bear the traces of a day gone by.

Silk begins a new life
when it is worn.

A silk thread passes through many hands
before becoming a garment.
From the Bao Loc highlands,
to the fabric bolt,
to the cutting table,
to the sewing machine,
to each final touch.

Hity preserves in this journey
respect for the material,
for the technique,
and for the time of the craftspeople.

A new life for silk
starts here.
